Become a Board Member

Women of Life, Inc is looking for dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors. If you would like to help us impact women from all walks of life, view the available positions below and fill out the application.

Positions Available

Vice President:

Work alongside the President. Moderate meetings and other events in the absence of the President. A member of and must attend semi-annual Executive Board meetings. Support the Team. Support the Vision and Mission. Help build strong customer relationships. Orient team and assist with leading others.

Recording Secretary:

Responsible for the permanent records of the organization including minutes of all regular and special meetings of the organization and the Board of Directors. Shall keep a current roster of organization membership and perform such other duties as may be requested by the President or the Board of Directors. A member of and must attend semi-annual Executive Board meetings.

Corresponding Secretary:

Serve as a communications liaison between the Board of Directors and the members, donors, and stakeholders, through written correspondence via the postal service/post office box, and electronic mail, and others as needed as appropriate. Perform duties of recording secretary in their absence.

Treasurer: 

Shall be custodian of the organization’s funds. One of the three Officers authorized to countersign any checks and make any purchases. Pay bills authorized by the Board of Directors. Keep an itemized account of receipts and disbursements (General Ledger). Present a written Treasury Report prior to monthly WOL Board business meetings. Provide additional financial details as requested. A member of and must attend semi-annual Executive Board

meetings.

Director of Fundraising:

Responsible for improving and executing a fundraising strategy for the nonprofit organization. The Director will coordinate with committees and staff to develop and solicit donor commitments and generate funds for the nonprofit. The coordinator will also oversee the accounting and reporting of funds raised. Responsible for the coordination of all fundraising activities within an organization. This position may also include developing and implementing fundraising campaigns, managing donor relationships, and developing and maintaining donor databases. The fundraising coordinator must be able to work well with a wide range of individuals and organizations and possess excellent organizational skills.

Director of Events:

The duties and responsibilities of the Director of Events is to manage and oversee the Women of Life, Inc. events. The Director is to ensure the logistics work out and ensure that the event itself is carried out smoothly. Here are the essential duties and responsibilities:

 

Establish a team to help coordinate events. Establish and maintain relationships with venues and vendors. Work with event/facility coordinator with planning event details and aspects, including seating, dining, and guests. Manage events and address potential problems that may arise. Plan for potential scenarios that could impact the integrity of the event. Maintain a working knowledge of the complex needs of a wide variety of events. Lead for Labor of Love event. Lead for Walk for Life event. Follow-up with speakers/ workshop leaders, etc. for their presentation and sleeping room needs, E.G. Do they need a podium, projector, microphone (for meals provided by WOL), sleeping room type (double, King, etc.)

Director of Grants Research and Development:

Secure grants and other sources of funding from WOL. Research and vet insurance companies, suppliers, services, etc. for our organization's needs. Research to start WOL scholarship. Research what is needed in release forms, etc. for events.

Director of Marketing & Communication:

The duties and responsibilities of the Director of Marketing is to oversee Women of Life, Inc. promotion and advertising efforts to build brand awareness across all social media platforms. Their responsibilities include:

Develop, implement, and overall marketing plan, approve campaigns and measuring results using various advertising

methods. Promoting, selling, marketing information management, digital and physical distribution Create and develop promotional material. Works closely with IT member to ensure website it updated and current.
