A verse many of us know well is 1 John 5:14: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”


But how often do we pause at those words—according to His will? It’s easy to focus on the promise of being heard, but the real challenge is surrendering our own desires to align with His.


Are our values, thoughts, and prayers shaped by obedience to His Word—or by what we want most in the moment?
