Acceptance

My morning devotion was centered around Romans 15:7 - "Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory."

We all want to be accepted; it is part of our innate nature. Yet, as a person of color, acceptance takes on an even deeper meaning...and rejection, a deeper pain.

As I process what happened in Buffalo, I am choosing to continue to love, to smile, to hope, but at the same time I am grieving, I am hurting, and I am weary.
